Subscribe to a list using an email command:

Send an e-mail to Listserv@listserv.nodak.edu
Leave the subject line blank of the e-mail
In the body (not subject) of the e-mail enter the following:
SUB listname yourfirstname yourlastname

 

NOTE: listname is the name of the list and yourfirstname and yourlastname are your name (must be at least two words).

 

For example, to join the list named XYZ, send the following in the body of the e-mail:

 

SUB xyz Pat Smith

 

In most cases, you will then be asked to confirm the request. Instructions will be included in the confirmation e-mail.

Unsubscribe from a list using an email command:

Send an e-mail to Listserv@listserv.nodak.edu
Note: This must come from the exact email address used in your subscription.
Leave the subject line blank of the e-mail
In the body (not subject) of the e-mail enter the following:
SIGNOFF listname

 

NOTE: listname is the name of the list you want to leave.

 

For example, to leave the list named XYZ, send the following in the body of the e-mail:

 

SIGNOFF xyz

 

In most cases, you will then be asked to confirm the request. Instructions will be included in the confirmation e-mail.

 

If this does not work (e.g., your address has changed), please contact the list owner at listname-request@listserv.nodak.edu and ask to be removed from the list. Be sure to mention any old addresses which might be subscribed to that list and the name of the list.

ListservĀ® can consolidate the mail from a list into a single large message, usually once a day, called a digest. You can then check the list of topics at the beginning of the message, or use the “find” command in your e-mail software to search for specific terms.

 

Switch to a digest using an email command:

 

Send an e-mail to Listserv@listserv.nodak.edu
Note: This must come from the exact email address used in your subscription.
In the body (not subject) of the e-mail enter the following:
SET listname mail digest

 

NOTE: listname is the name of the list you want to switch to a digest.

Go to http://listserv.nodak.edu.

Click Subscriber’s Corner.

Click Log in.

 

NOTE: If you do not have a ListservĀ® login, you can get one by clicking get a new LISTSERV password link.

How do I send mail to a list?

 

To send an e-mail or “post” to a list, address your e-mail message to:

listname@listserv.nodak.edu

 

NOTE: listname is the name of the list to which you wish to send your message. Some lists are moderated, therefore, it may take time for your message to be approved.
